It’s been a while since I’ve given an update. There’s been lots of prototyping and testing different interactions and lots of discussions and changing ideas so it felt premature to write anything down since it changed day to day. The core concept is the same and it’s been a matter of needing to build a working prototype and test it all out. That being said, we crafted a box to house the webcam which faces upward to a piece of plexiglass that will be cut to sit inside. There will be pine needles and twigs on top and people can make images which will be streamed in front of them. Then they can alter the red, green, and blue values using potentiometers and they can use a button to take a picture. Right now the stream and the picture appear next to each other, but we would like to have the picture appear in another location using a second projector. We are working to see how we can make this happen and that is what we will be working on over the next week, as well as finishing up the box (adding the potentiometers, cutting the plexi). After this is complete we want to focus on what interactions we can add if it is possible to use the second projector. The idea of having people communicating through interactions is really interesting, but we wanted to secure this interaction first.
