Last week I presented Pine Art (working title) to my class. We finished the fabrication of the box and decided against adding a second interaction space, instead projecting the images side by side as we had done previously. The webcam, knobs, and button and are secure now and the box itself is very solid. We played around using HSB instead of RGB manipulation but found that RGB was more intuitive. For the show next week we will be making the knobs clearly marked and I am still hoping we can add a sound component. I am unsure if we will be able to get it working and I am unsure how I want it to look. Originally we wanted the sound to act as a form of communication between two separate parties, but now that it is all in one space it will be a lot more personal. We played with the idea of headphones, but seeing people make images with their friends is also rewarding so we’re not sure if we want the sound to be so isolating. Over the next few days we will playtest with different audio and different interactions and hopefully get them working in time for the show this weekend.
